The Final Hours Of...
There are only 24 hours left to go on the Kickstarter campaign for my bizarro book, My Dog Shits Cash. If you’d like to back the campaign and grab yourself an ebook, a paperback, or one of the lovely exclusive hardcovers, then now is your chance.
IN THIS LINK LIVES ALL YOUR DREAMS.
Honestly… I had no idea how this whole thing would go. As my family and close friends might tell you, I’m not always the most self-confident of folks.
I love what I do and I love what I make, but whenever it comes to putting my stuff out there, I often feel that pinch in my soul, some nagging little demon telling me that it’s not good enough… will never be good enough.
I’ve written several novels, films, games, that now all sit on hidden hard drives and in secret DropBox folders, never to see the light of day. There could be some good stuff in there but back when I made them, I didn’t have the confidence to allow them to breathe. I doubted them to death.
Sometimes, though, a project manages to slip through the fingers of my murderous doubt. And I’m so happy that this one did, too. I’m so glad that I launched the campaign.
It was so lovely when the campaign was fully funded 90 minutes from launch.
And it was so nice when Kickstarter labelled it as a Staff Pick.
And super reassuring when we hit 400% funded this yesterday.
And it’s got me so damn excited to see what I can put out into the world next, whether that’s another bizarro book through Bod Dot Press, a genre project through Hawk & Cleaver and The Other Stories, or something else altogether.
Also, if bizarro isn’t your cup of tea, I get it. I do. This book is not for everybody. It’s an odd little song, a handful of frequencies that only mutants, weirdos, and fans of telepathic dogs can hear. The fun thing is playing the song and seeing who (or what) sings back.
Okay, one more time from the top — pick up a copy of My Dog Shits Cash.*
Until next time,
Luke & family.
*No worries if not.
